Clovelly is a place to relax and unwind, in a village that time has stood still and no cars can venture down its cobbled streets, owned by only three families since Richard the Lion heart this village owned by the Rous family is a unique setting with its Britain in Bloom Gold award winning flowers and its sea-views and vast coastal path walks.
Clovelly as a village has licensed venues throughout the village from a cliff top location the Wilderness Summer House the Red Lion hotel situated on the Quayside and the Clovelly Garden Summer House perfect for just the two of you, or a marquee wedding for many guests, a church is situated in the Clovelly Court Gardens that is also available for weddings.
Rachel and Matt wanted to get married in 6 months time, they wanted a large wedding for all of their family and friends but wanted an event to last the weekend so that all of their guests could truly experience the village.
Rachel and Matt choose a variety of suppliers for us to work with, Funky Tents South West to supply the marquee, Nick Pearce Photography to capture their day in documentary style, Flanagan Street food for a unique style of catering, Preston Gate Outside Bar to bring a real bar to their marquee, Ambience Devon to create a unique Boho style setting, Church Park Flowers to provide locally grown flowers to suit Rachel and Matts style, and North Devon Wedding and Event Planning to pull it all together.
The couple had a pimms and pasties drinks reception at the Red Lion Hotel where all guests met to be transported by the Clovelly Estate Land Rover service to the Clovelly Court Gardens, here a private ceremony took place within the walled garden, the couple then lead all guests to the marquee where the Clovelly donkeys enjoyed time with the guests and all were serenaded by John Moody an acoustic guitarist.
The family all sat for speeches whilst food orders were taken, after dining on street food and enjoying pink gin fizz the couple enjoyed a party that went on till the early hours at the Clovelly Court terrace.
The day was stunning, the cold wind blew, the marquees were decorated beautifully, and the food and drink were enjoyed by all, Clovelly can provide a traditional setting, or a relaxed DIY venue for you to be creative, enabling the bridal couple to turn your dreams into reality.
