ALMONRY BARN

Somerset

Medieval Barn & accommodation, full of character and set in apple orchards.

It's a scheduled ancient monument, showcasing its significance to the nation. Built by monks, it's opposite the abbey ruins and grade 1 listed church, located in a small historic village.

Retaining many of its original features, the barn includes medieval hexfoils carved by the monks, bringing protection. Over the years, it has had many uses, starting as a medieval guest house for the abbey and visiting monks, and later a threshing barn (with its machinery in place), before becoming a wedding venue in 2012.

The barn is brimming with character, featuring old doorways and arrow slit windows, as well as a bar located in the stables – with its original hay racks for the plough horses still in place. Our ceremony room is upstairs in the hayloft where grain was once stored. It’s truly perfect, but you can add your own personal touches to make it unique to you.

Situated in an old apple orchard on the edge of the village, our venue provides ample outdoor space to enjoy drinks, games or even an outdoor civil or celebrant led ceremony.

We're conveniently located an hour from Bristol or Bath, and two hours from London when travelling by car.
